Pakistan Women’s cricket team secured a place in the semi-finals of the Women’s Asia Cup after defeating Hong Kong by 72 runs.
Batting first, Pakistan posted 143 for 8 in their allotted overs, setting Hong Kong a target of 144 runs.
Shawal Zulfiqar top-scored for Pakistan with 47 runs, while Ayesha Zafar contributed 26, Fatima Sana scored 24 and Tooba Hassan added 14.
Hong Kong struggled in the chase and were bowled out for just 71 runs, handing Pakistan a comprehensive victory.
Nashra Sindhu stars with six wickets
Pakistan spinner Nashra Sindhu was the standout performer with the ball, taking six wickets to dismantle Hong Kong’s batting lineup.
Fatima Sana, Sadia Iqbal and Ayesha Zafar claimed one wicket each as Pakistan’s bowlers wrapped up the Hong Kong innings.
For Hong Kong, Julian Kaur was the pick of the bowlers, taking four wickets during Pakistan’s innings.
The victory sends Pakistan into the Women’s Asia Cup semi-finals.
