China’s first multi-functional long-endurance unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) developed in accordance with airworthiness standards completed its maiden flight in Yantai City, east China’s Shandong Province on Sunday.
The UAV, coded TP200, was independently developed by Yi-Tong UAV System Co., Ltd. During the test flight, the aircraft maintained a stable and controllable attitude, with its climb altitude, cruising speed and other parameters all meeting the design specifications.

Specifically designed for long-endurance, high-altitude operation, the TP200 has a full-load endurance of more than 24 hours. Unlike conventional single-purpose drones, the UAV features a modular, multi-configuration design that allows it to accommodate various mission payloads and rapidly switch between operational modes according to mission needs.
The design effectively addresses major industry challenges, including low equipment reuse rates, limited versatility, and high procurement and maintenance costs, and is expected to accelerate the transition of large UAVs beyond specialized applications into broader adoption in government and civil sectors.
The TP200 supports a wide range of applications, including long-range maritime patrol, offshore search and rescue, and routine coastline monitoring. It can also be deployed for weather modification operations, meteorological observation, drought relief and rain enhancement missions. In emergency response scenarios, the UAV can accurately deliver relief supplies to remote mountainous areas and islands, making it practical for coastal or mountainous countries in Southeast Asia. Other applications include forest and grassland fire prevention patrols, land surveying and mapping, and ecological monitoring.
