At least seven people were killed and five others injured in a powerful explosion in Domail Tehsil of Bannu on Saturday, according to police officials.
The blast occurred in the Pang Musakhel area, triggering panic in the locality and resulting in multiple casualties. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
Police said the explosion took place in the Pang Musakhel area of Domail Tehsil in Bannu district.
According to initial reports, unknown armed men targeted a Datsun vehicle, leading to a deadly blast that claimed seven lives and left five people injured.
Tehsildar’s vehicle also hit
Police officials stated that the vehicle of the tehsildar of the subdivision was also struck by the explosion.
However, authorities have not yet released further details regarding the extent of damage to the official vehicle or whether any government officials were among the casualties.
Following the blast, rescue teams and local authorities rushed to the scene and shifted the dead and injured to a nearby hospital. Medical treatment is being provided to the injured, while officials continue to assess the full impact of the incident.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemned the deadly Bannu explosion. He expressed deep sorrow and grief over the loss of precious human lives in the incident, and extended condolences to the families of the deceased.
“Targeting innocent people and children is an act of barbarism,” said Naqvi. “These brutal terrorists deserve no leniency or concessions.”
Naqvi also prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the explosion.
