The Israeli military has claimed that Iran launched a missile attack on Israel, with reports of explosions in central Israel after the missiles were fired. Warning sirens sounded in several cities.
According to Israeli media, explosions were heard across central Israel following the Iranian missile attack. Reports stated that four missiles were intercepted in the air, while additional missiles were continuing towards Israeli territory.
According to a news agency, sirens sounded across several areas of Israel after missiles were launched from Iran. Israeli authorities subsequently instructed residents to move immediately to secure shelters.
The Israeli military stated that missiles had been launched from Iran towards Israel a short time earlier. Defence systems were activated and essential safety instructions were issued to the public.
The military said that residents who received emergency alerts on their mobile phones should move at once to protected shelters.
According to Arab media reports, Iran had earlier threatened retaliation following an attack on Beirut, after which the latest missile strike took place.
Iranian supreme leader adviser Mohammad Mokhber said in a message posted on social media that the enemy would pay a heavy price for the attack on Beirut’s Dahiyeh district. He stated that by bombing Lebanon while a mediator was present in Tehran, the enemy had set fire to the negotiating table, adding that those responsible for the violation would receive a response in the language of strength.
