Air defence systems were activated in parts of Tehran, according to Iranian media, as tensions between Iran and Israel continue to escalate.
The development comes amid fresh threats and uncertainty over possible renewed conflict in the region.
Iranian outlets Nour News and Mehr News Agency reported that air defence batteries were activated in parts of Tehran.
No further details were provided regarding the cause, and there were no immediate reports of any incidents.
Israel signals readiness for escalation
Meanwhile, Israel’s Defence Minister Israel Katz said the country is prepared to resume military operations against Iran.
He stated that Israeli forces are ready for both defensive and offensive actions, adding that targets have already been identified.
Awaiting US decision
Katz said Israel is waiting for a “green light” from the United States before proceeding with further action.
He warned that any renewed offensive would be “different and lethal,” and suggested potential strikes on Iran’s energy and infrastructure.
Plans for renewed negotiations between the United States and Iran remain uncertain despite mediation efforts, including those by Pakistan.
The ongoing conflict has already caused significant casualties, particularly in Iran and Lebanon, and continues to impact regional stability and the global economy.
Araghchi says state institutions ‘act with unity’
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said state institutions are functioning with unity and discipline.
He described coordination between military and diplomatic efforts as part of a unified national response.
