ISLAMABAD (DI NEWS) : A grand ceremony and seminar were organized at Women University Mardan in collaboration with China Window to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Pakistan–China friendship. The event featured a cake-cutting ceremony, speeches by prominent educationists and scholars from various fields, and impressive performances by university students.
Addressing the seminar, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Razia Sultana stated that the 75-year-long friendship between Pakistan and China stands as a shining example of mutual trust, respect, and cooperation. She emphasized that education is playing a fundamental role in further strengthening these ties. She described the Pakistan–China friendship as “higher than mountains, deeper than oceans, and sweeter than honey,” adding that over the decades, it has evolved into a strong strategic partnership.
She highlighted that thousands of Pakistani students are pursuing higher education in China, gaining exposure to modern research and technology. The Vice Chancellor further noted that initiatives promoting the Chinese language and culture in Pakistan are enhancing mutual understanding between the two nations.
Appreciating the role of China Window, she said the institution is commendably bringing youth closer to China through cultural and educational activities. She reaffirmed that Women University Mardan remains committed to providing quality education and global opportunities to its students, especially female students. Collaborations with Chinese universities, she added, are opening new avenues in research, scholarships, and faculty exchange programs.
Prof. Dr. Razia Sultana termed the joint seminar a significant step toward enhancing academic cooperation between the two institutions, which will further strengthen Pakistan–China relations. She expressed confidence that the friendship between the two countries will continue to grow stronger for generations to come.
Speaking on the occasion, educationist Dr. Khalid Khan said that Pakistan–China friendship goes beyond slogans, as China has been actively supporting Pakistan’s economic development. He cited the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor as a major example, adding that its second phase will soon start delivering results. He stressed the need for Pakistan to learn from China in order to achieve self-reliance.
Renowned columnist Naz Parveen highlighted China’s remarkable progress, noting that lifting 800 million people out of poverty is an unprecedented achievement in global history. She added that China’s advancements in agriculture are also benefiting Pakistan, marking an important step toward economic improvement and stronger bilateral ties.
Prof. Dr. Nilofar Ikram stated that Pakistan–China friendship presents vast opportunities for the younger generation, urging them to work harder to achieve success. She emphasized the importance of cultural and educational exchanges between the two countries, saying such initiatives would bring the people of both nations closer.
The ceremony also featured vibrant performances by university students celebrating Pakistan–China friendship. The Vice Chancellor and faculty members concluded the event by cutting a cake to mark the 75th anniversary celebrations.
