Dell has given gamers a glimpse of what’s next for Alienware at CES 2026, teasing ultra-slim and entry-level gaming laptops. The move signals a shift toward lighter designs and more accessible pricing in a lineup known for power and premium builds.
At CES 2026 on Monday, Dell unveiled a brief preview of two upcoming Alienware gaming laptops: one ultra-slim model and one entry-level option. Both devices are expected to launch later this year, though Dell has not yet revealed their official names.
The announcement suggests Dell is looking to broaden Alienware’s appeal beyond its traditional high-end and mid-range offerings.
Alienware’s current lineup
Alienware’s existing portfolio includes the 16-inch Aurora 16 and 16X, positioned as sleek mid-range gaming laptops, and the larger 16- and 18-inch Area-51 models, which serve as flagship machines.
These laptops typically start between $1,100 and $2,670, weigh around 5.5 to 7.5 pounds, and measure at least 0.89 inches thick, reinforcing Alienware’s reputation for powerful but hefty devices.
Ultra-slim alienware laptop takes center stage
According to a blog post by Dell’s PC gaming lead Matt McGowan, the new ultra-slim Alienware laptop will feature a more understated design than current models. It will be available in both 14-inch and 16-inch sizes.
Dell says the laptop will measure around 0.67 inches thick, putting it on par with last year’s 16-inch Apple MacBook Pro.
McGowan noted that the 16-inch version will be “nearly 50% smaller in volume” than the current 16-inch Area-51. While the slim design comes with some trade-offs in raw power, Dell says it will still offer “serious gaming capability.”
The laptop will feature Nvidia discrete graphics and new, highly efficient CPUs, aiming to balance mobility with gaming performance.
Dell has shared only one image of the ultra-slim model so far. The photo appears to show an RGB keyboard and a microSD card slot, but no detailed specifications have been confirmed.
Based on its positioning, the laptop is expected to compete with models like the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 and G16, which are popular among gamers and creatives seeking portability with strong performance.
Entry-level alienware targets lower price point
Dell has revealed even less about its upcoming entry-level Alienware gaming laptop. The company has only confirmed that it will be cheaper than any existing Alienware model.
According to McGowan, the device is designed to deliver solid gaming performance in a clean design at Alienware’s “most accessible price point yet.”
The single product image released shows a slim chassis, a white backlit keyboard, and what appears to be a well-rounded selection of ports. However, specifications, pricing, and exact positioning remain undisclosed.
Dell is expected to share more details during its CES briefings later this week.
