Pakistan Shaheens overpowered India A with a dominant eight-wicket win in the Asia Cup Rising Stars match at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha on Sunday.
The Shaheens reached their 137-run target with 6.4 overs to spare. India A posted 136 in 19 overs after electing to bat. Vaibhav Suryavanshi struck 45 from 28 balls and Naman Dhir contributed 35 from 20, but regular breakthroughs checked the innings. Shahid Aziz led Pakistan’s attack with three wickets for 24, while Saad Masood and Maaz Sadaqat claimed two each.
Sadaqat then produced the decisive performance of the match. He anchored the chase with an unbeaten 79 from 47 deliveries, an innings that included seven fours and four sixes. Mohammad Naeem added 14 and Yasir Khan made 11 before both fell, but Pakistan remained firmly in control. Mohammad Faiq finished with 16 not out as the Shaheens closed on 137 for 2 in 13.2 overs.
The Shaheens won the toss and fielded first. Sadaqat received the Player of the Match award for his all-round display.
