National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has offered fresh talks to the opposition.
Expressing his thoughts, Sadiq said: “The prime minister has offered talks to the opposition on several occasions and even formed the high-power committee. But the opposition has boycotted the committee. I would like to invite you [opposition] again for holding the talks.”
Responding to the NA speaker’s offers for holding the talks, Mahmood Achakzai said: “We cannot hold the talks, as you are not the real representatives of the people.”
Sadiq reacted to Achakzai’s statement, saying, “It is a lame excuse for avoiding the talks with the government. I am elected twice after defeating your leader.”
Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said: “We believe in holding the talks. PTI founder Imran Khan has also directed the party to hold the talks.”
Speaking about Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif, Barrister Gohar said: “Nawaz Sharif has become irrelevant in the country’s political landscape.”
