Iran has announced the reconstruction of its nuclear facilities.
During a visit to the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran, President Masoud Pezeshkian said the facilities would be strengthened beyond their previous state. He emphasised that Iran had never intended to acquire nuclear weapons and has no such intention now.
The president received a briefing on the latest status of the nuclear installations. He warned that the country would not retreat if buildings were destroyed, asserting that Iranian scientists still possess all the necessary knowledge and expertise.
Separately, government spokeswoman Fatemeh Mohajerani said Iran had received a message regarding the resumption of negotiations on its nuclear programme, but she did not specify the source of the message.
In June, Israel launched an extraordinary bombing campaign against Iran, leading to a twelve-day conflict. During the hostilities, Israel targeted nuclear and military facilities as well as residential areas, resulting in the deaths of several senior scientists.
