Pakistan-China Friendship Group in Parliament held its inaugural meeting at Parliament House, chaired by Senator Sherry Rehman, reaffirming the “all-weather, time-tested, iron-clad” friendship between both nations. Senator Rehman highlighted China’s role in Pakistan’s economic and social development through the CPEC, praising President Xi Jinping’s visionary leadership and calling for expanded cooperation in trade, agriculture, education, and climate resilience. She emphasized that China’s agricultural collaboration could transform Pakistan’s rural economy and promote sustainable growth. Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong reiterated China’s unwavering support for Pakistan’s sovereignty and development, announcing new projects including 100 hospitals in Balochistan, industrial zones, and agricultural initiatives. Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to stability, innovation, and mutual prosperity, marking the session as a milestone in deepening strategic and people-to-people ties.
