Pakistan’s information technology sector has achieved a major milestone, setting a new all-time record for monthly IT exports.
According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, IT exports surged to $366 million in September 2025, the highest monthly figure in the country’s history.
IT exports reach record $366m in Sept
Official data shows that Pakistan’s IT exports stood at $366 million in September 2025, marking a substantial increase from $292 million in the same month last year — a strong indicator of sectoral resilience and global demand for Pakistan’s technology services.
The record-breaking growth highlights the expanding contribution of telecommunications, computer, and information services, which together form the backbone of the country’s IT exports.
First quarter exports cross $1bn mark
During the first quarter of the fiscal year 2025-26, Pakistan’s total IT exports reached $1.057 billion, reflecting a 21% increase compared to the $877 million recorded during the same period last year.
This consistent growth reinforces the IT industry’s position as one of the key drivers of Pakistan’s economic performance and foreign exchange earnings.
Sustained growth in IT and telecom services
The latest figures from the bureau of statistics indicate that telecommunication services, software exports, and information technology-enabled services (ITES) have collectively contributed to this record growth.
Pakistan’s IT companies continue to expand their footprint globally, offering software development, business process outsourcing, and digital solutions to clients across North America, Europe, and the Middle East.
