Nepal and Oman have secured qualification for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
According to details surfaced on Wednesday, Nepal have reached the tournament for the third time, while Oman have qualified for a fourth appearance. From the Africa region, Zimbabwe and Namibia had earlier confirmed their places in the tournament.
In the ICC Europe Qualifier, Italy earned a place at the T20 World Cup for the first time, while the Netherlands also progressed from Europe. Moreover, in the Americas Regional Qualifier, hosts Canada booked their place in the tournament by defeating the Bahamas by 57 runs.
According to the International Cricket Council (ICC), a total of 20 teams will take part in next year’s T20 World Cup. Alongside hosts India and Sri Lanka, the following nations have already qualified by reaching the Super Eight stage of the previous edition: Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, South Africa, West Indies, the United States and New Zealand.
Pakistan, New Zealand and Ireland have gained direct entry to the tournament based on their ICC T20 International rankings.
With 19 teams having secured qualification, one remaining spot is yet to be confirmed.
