Hamas has confirmed that an agreement has been reached with Israel to end the war and withdraw occupying forces from Gaza.
According to details surfaced on Thursday, under the agreement, humanitarian aid will be delivered to Gaza and prisoners will be exchanged. Hamas also confirmed the signing of the first phase of the peace agreement.
The group said it remains committed to its pledge and will not renounce the principles of freedom, sovereignty and the right of the people to self-determination. It urged guarantor countries to ensure that Israel fully complies with all conditions of the agreement.
As part of the deal, the Israeli government will release 2,000 Palestinian prisoners in exchange for live hostages. The exchange is set to take place within seventy-two hours of the agreement coming into effect.
Foreign media have reported these developments.
