The security forces killed seven Indian-backed terrorists during a major intelligence-based operation in Sherani district of Balochistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed on Friday.
Details of operation
According to ISPR, security forces launched the intelligence-driven operation after tracking the movement of terrorists in Sherani district.
During the encounter, heavy firing was exchanged between the terrorists and troops before seven terrorists were neutralized. Weapons, ammunition, and explosive materials were seized from their possession.
The terrorists killed were reportedly involved in several violent activities in the region, targeting peace and stability.
Clearance operation underway
Following the successful action, security forces initiated a clearance operation across the area to search for any remaining terrorists.
ISPR emphasized Pakistan’s resolve, stating: “Pakistan is determined to completely eliminate Indian-sponsored terrorism. The perpetrators of terrorism will be brought to justice.”
National leadership reacts
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lauded the bravery of the armed forces, declaring that the defeat of Indian-backed militants in Sherani was a major blow to terrorism.
“The menace of terrorism will be uprooted. The government is committed to the complete eradication of terrorism, and those who harm the integrity of Pakistan will not be allowed to succeed,” he stated.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also congratulated security forces on their achievement, appreciating their professionalism in neutralizing the militants.
“The timely action has thwarted the nefarious intentions of the terrorists. The sacrifices and achievements of our forces in establishing peace in Balochistan are invaluable. The nation stands firmly with our brave soldiers,” Naqvi stated.
