Between September 10 and 13, Pakistan’s security forces carried out intensive operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, neutralising 35 terrorists linked to the Indian-backed outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), the military’s media said on Saturday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), twelve brave soldiers paid the ultimate sacrifice while defending the motherland.
The first operation was conducted in Bajaur District following intelligence reports about the presence of militants. During the engagement, security forces confronted the Khawarij and successfully neutralized 22 terrorists after an intense exchange of fire.
In a separate encounter in South Waziristan District, 13 more militants were eliminated. These individuals were actively involved in terrorist activities in the region, and security forces recovered weapons and ammunition from the site.
During these operations, 12 Pakistan Army personnel lost their lives while gallantly confronting heavily armed militants.
The ISPR also said intelligence confirms the involvement of Afghan nationals in these attacks.
Sanitisation operations are ongoing to ensure any remaining Indian-backed Khawarij are eliminated, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to eradicating terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, added military’s media wing.
19 TTP terrorists killed in security operations across KP
Earlier, security forces killed 19 Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorists—also referred to as Khwarij—in three separate intelligence-based operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on September 9 and 10.
The ISPR said that acting on intelligence reports of terrorist presence, security forces launched an operation in the Guluno area of Mohmand District.
Troops effectively engaged the hideout, resulting in an intense exchange of fire that left 14 terrorists dead. The killed militants were described as Indian-sponsored Khwarij actively involved in terrorist activities in the region.
In a separate operation in Datta Khel, North Waziristan District, four more terrorists were neutralized by security forces.
Meanwhile, in another encounter in Bannu District, one terrorist was killed. Weapons and ammunition were recovered from all three sites.
The ISPR added that sanitization operations are ongoing to ensure no remaining militants are present in the cleared areas.
“Pakistan’s security forces remain determined to eradicate the menace of Indian-sponsored terrorism and will continue to target militants involved in destabilizing the region,” the statement said.
