British police have closed a rape case against Pakistani cricketer Haider Ali due to lack of evidence, police sources confirmed.
Haider Ali, who was arrested two weeks after a woman accused him of rape, will have his passport returned within the next few hours and will be able to travel freely to and from the United Kingdom.
Authorities had sought additional time for investigation, but no charges could be substantiated against the cricketer.
The development clears the way for Haider Ali to resume his cricketing career without legal restrictions.
